Message to our Patients
We realise the phone has been an issue for some time and the practice has been working through some governance/planning processes in regard to a new phone system for the practice, this has taken longer to work through than anticipated. We understand the frustration everyone has had with the phone system and the length of time it is taking to get a new system in place, but we are pleased to inform everyone that the new phone system will commence installation from Monday 7th February 2022.
The new system will give us more phone lines into and out of the practice so it will make it easier for patients to connect with us and will also give you the position in the queue recordings so that you know your position and can progress down the queue until you are connected. We are also able to protect some phone lines for the practice staff to use to call out of the practice which will improve the ability for the clinical team to get a phone line out to undertake a scheduled phone consultation.
Recording of all telephone calls will also now take place and the practice will retain these recordings for a period of 12 months and then they will be deleted.
We hope that this new system will make it easier for patients to contact the practice, but we would also like to make you aware of the practice online consultation service that is available for patients to use as an alternative to contacting the practice by telephone. The online consultation system can be used to submit clinical or administrative enquiries and your query will be directed to the most appropriate member of the team to deal with and we will be back in touch with you. Could we also take this opportunity to notify you that CCTV will shortly be fitted at the practice site at Winterton and Burton Upon Stather. This will record activity on our external premises and the recordings will be retained for 30 days.
